Generator

The generator of a wind power plant converts the mechanical energy of the rotors into electrical energy through electromagnetic induction. In gearless systems, it is directly connected to the rotor so that the electrical components are subject to stronger speed fluctuations in strong winds. To prevent overheating, the inside temperature must be constantly monitored.

Our products for the wind turbine generator

No overheating

When a gearless generator is built, temperature sensors with connecting wires are integrated into the pole shoes which sit directly on the rotor. Alternatively, several Pt100 temperature sensors are inserted between the 3-pole winding strands of the stator and potted with them. In wind power plants with adjustable gearboxes the generators are set up separately in the nacelle. In addition, the humidity is monitored in both systems to prevent corrosion. As always, JUMO can provide you with the appropriate sensors for these requirements.
